Christmas Eve

We celebrated Christmas Eve with Craig's immediate and a bit of the extended family like we always do. This year we all went to Judy's house since Craig's parents house is still being renovated and some of us had not been to Judy's new house.
I made a "gift box" cake to share as Jesus' birthday cake. It was my first double layer cake and I covered it in fondant and made the bow out of fondant too. Then with the leftover batter, I made some mini cakes too!
Vicki & Kelly (craig's cousins) helped the kids with their gifts! Drew played a dice game and tried to win some money! The 4 little cousins (Craig's and his sister's kids) played "Sorry". My Grandma went with us. We always have a good time and stay way too late for the kids!
When we got home the boys got right in their Xmas pj's and got a mini cake and some milk for Santa.

Momo and Dylan

Momo and Dylan playing playdoh.....they did this for hours!

And he loved listening to her read books.

She's been here for a week. They have played hard and loved even harder. She has cooked homemade Mexican almost every day. I think I've gained a few lbs.
It's not easy having her here, I'll be honest. But I do love her and I love that I was able to spend
this time with her.

Christmas Program

Drew very reluctantly performed in his Kindergarten Christmas Program. Here he is dancing with his class to "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and some Figgy Pudding on his plate! :)

We took our beach blanket and sat on the floor. Dylan was having a snack and danced most of the program!
Drew did really well, despite him not wanting to do it at all. I bribed him by promising him that he didn't have to do any other music program for the rest of Primary school!

Payback

Ok, what was that saying that my mom said about paybacks?!

Well, at least this was contained in the bathroom and none was shoved in the toilet!
Thanks Dylan for keeping us on our toes!

Trash/recycling

Here's our trash/recycling station in our kitchen. I won these bags in a contest that ABITIBI paper retriever was holding last month. I should've known that these would end up like this if I won!

Luckily, we have the space for them. Drew was way excited when I got these in the mail. They even all velcro together. And he put them in order from most to least used from the trash!
Here he is explaining it all to Dylan!

Goodbye Pumpkin

We had to let Pumpkin go. We had her for 2 months and probably spent about $1000 on her. Between the shelter fee, vet bills, calming collar and pillow, the anti pee/poop sprays and plug-ins...She quickly became a part of our family and this was not an easy decision. I literally did everything I could to keep her here. We kept her in our room, we let her roam the house. She would poop when mad and yesterday peed all over my room.
I called the shelter in tears and they took her back. I told them all that we had done, and they were so surprised that she was being so naughty. They are going to put her in foster care with someone that has experience in bad behavior!
We do already miss her. My mom took her nice food bowls and litter box, we took her bed and toys to the shelter with her. We are not getting another cat. My heart is hurt and I just don't want that again. The boys are sad but understand.

Her and Drew the day we got her.

In Dylan's rocker the last night we had her.
She will be greatly missed.......

Gingerbread House!

We did it! We decorated a Gingerbread House tonight. We were going to go to our town's Christmas Parade, but it got cold and Dylan has been sick, so I decided we needed to stay home. At first they were disappointed, but they shortly after were ok when I pulled this out to do!

Of course, they had to lick their fingers as they were decorating!
Both concentrating so hard.....

Look at Dylan's side!

All done! and So proud!

"helicopter view"

front view

Dylan ate the ginger-snowman

Drew ate the Gingerbread boy

and it started falling apart about 10 minutes after we finished.
But, that's OK! We came up with the idea that a tornado came through and knocked the roof off!
So, they ate some of it. Good thing we have pics to show for it!

It's beginning to smell a lot like Christmas

A friend of mine at work starting selling Scentsy a few weeks ago and I have become addicted to them. I had to buy Christmas ones with Christmas scents!

This one is in the living room with Winter Wonderland. I just love that reindeer.

In the kitchen. Red with the white snowflakes, just happens to match my Christmas rug in there! This one has Snowberry.

Master bath with snowberry too.
I have Eskimo Kiss in the master bedroom. But it's not in a Christmas warmer!
I'm really loving these Scentsy's.
