First trip as four!

Well, we did it!
We took our first trip as a family of four this weekend! We went to Waco to see my family. Oh boy, you should have seen our car! we put the third row down to have space for everything and it was packed so tightly nothing budged on the way! It took us hours to get ready, packed, loaded, dogs dropped off, and out the door! We left at the time that I wanted to be in Waco! You know that drove me NUTS! Dylan did great on the way there, sleeping the whole time and Drew of course was great too! We plugged in his portable DVD player and he watched curious george, not making a peep the whole way! Craig and I actually got to talk to each other and have a grown up conversation, something we have not been able to do in well, 2 months!! We stayed with my brother, Pete and his wife, Devin. Dylan got fussy a little bit while we were there and they hated hearing Dylan cry. We took turns trying to calm him down! He just gets fussy and there is nothing anyone can do! Very frustrating! Could it be gas, reflux, too tired, bored, hurting? Oh my gosh, I'm a terrible mom because I don't know and I can't fix it! They felt bad for us!
We took the boys to the Cameron Park Zoo on Sunday morning! If you have not been there, you need to go! It's a fabulous zoo!! Drew had a blast! He loves the zoo! He was naming all the animals and looking for the signs to see where to go next! He had his zoo map in his hands and would tell us what was coming up and where he wanted to go! He also was into looking for certain letters that he is currently learning! He has really amazed us with this letter learning! He is picking them up soooo fast! He's ready for preschool in the fall! And that makes me more ready too!
So, after the zoo we went to my grandma's house. Drew calls her Momo, that's what my brother and I called her when we were little! She had my favorite dinner cooked and it was so delicious! We all wished that we could have eaten more! Gosh, I miss her cooking! She has fresh, hot, homemade tortillas too of course! And she had gone to HEB and gotten Drew some animal cookies and pears! He loves them and she always gets them for him when we go to Waco! She may be pushing 87, but she remembers what her Drew Richard likes!!! :-)
We got home way late last night and Drew got to bed at 10! I hate that, but hopefully I can get him back on a better schedule this week!
Dylan slept for 8 hours last night!!! So I guess we wore him out! Thank goodness because I was pooped!
Well, now that we have survived an hour and a half drive, maybe we will get brave and do it again and maybe go futher!? who knows!

Drew's BFF!

Drew has a best friend! His name is Luke and he lives right down the road! We met Luke and his parents about a year ago and these 2 have been best pals ever since! They love playing together and are often asking about each other. This particular day that this pic was taken we had Luke over for swimming and hot dogs! They are so cute! They hug each other when they see each other as if it has been years since they have seen each other. And when we are saying good bye, they give each other "knuckles"!
They play with each other like any other 3 year old. Playing nice one minute and then making each other mad the next minute! Sharing toys one minute and then being stingey with their toys the next minute! Luke and Drew both have little brothers so let's hope they are friends too! The great thing about Luke and Drew being friends is that we have new friends too! Luke's mom and dad are great too and we love hanging out with them with all our boys! So, here's to lifelong friendships!

6 weeks

well Dylan is now 6 weeks and I have been a mother of 2 for 6 weeks now. Some days I feel like I'm doing pretty damn good, and other days not so much! The first month was not so glamorous. Drew tested us to the max! He didn't like Dylan and asked me several times if I could put him back in my tummy. He would tell me that Dylan wanted that too when he was crying! I can't tell you how many times I secretly wished that too! And of course he needed me as soon as I would start nursing Dylan. I mean without fail, for something that he truly didn't need me for, just needed to know mommy was still there for him.
I think now we are all 4 getting used to our new family dynamic! We are all much happier and sleeping better. Dylan is now on formula!
And Drew likes Dylan now and will even kiss him and rub his fuzzy hair. Drew has become such a wonderful big brother and wants to help in any way that he can! He even wanted to help feed him last night! It was so sweet. He's a bit obsessed with the poopy diapers, he has to see them before we roll them up and put them in the diaper genie! He likes to put Dylan's paci back in his mouth when he's crying too!
I'm scared to brag about it, but Dylan has been sleeping like a champ the past few nights! Sleeping 5-7 hours at a time! WOW!! Can we be so lucky to have 2 good sleepers!!!??? gosh, I sure hope I didn't just jinx us on that!
I hope this blog is fun for you to read and hopefully will keep everyone updated on our boys! I've wanted to start a blog for a while now. So, here's hoping that I can keep up with the boys!! :-)
