El Bombero

Drew's pet hermit crab got some real beach sand today. We got it from our family beach trip. Drew wanted to bring some sand back for him because he said it would feel like home for him!
We decided to make the beach sand over where he mostly sleeps and hides under his coconut trees! I think he likes the sand! He's been out more tonight than in a long time. And yes, the rest is purple!

Party

Sweet Maddy's 3rd birthday last night.
Started the party with some waterplay. I was so happy the boys actually played together and took turns very nicely pushing each other in this car!

We ended the night swinging.

Birthday

Today would have been my dad's 62nd birthday. He died of cancer 2 weeks after he turned 50. I miss him everyday and want to keep his memory alive for my boys. Once they were born, I had to think of something we could do on his birthday. I'm not a big cemetery person. Plus, he's buried 2 hrs away, so driving the boys just for that didn't seem feasible. So a few years ago, we started the cupcake tradition. So, today my sweet hubby went and got some cupcakes for us. We got 6 different flavors today!

Drew smelling them and getting a closeup. Trying to decide which one he'll eat. I personally, took a few bites of each!

Dylan got a little messy!
They split the chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream icing. That was my dad's favorite flavor!

Arts and crafts time

We made a special gift for Mrs. Hickman, Drew's kindergarten teacher tonight. It prompted a full on arts and crafts night. I was happy to oblige since neither of my boys is crafty. Craig even got in on the action. What a wonderful family night!

Dylan has mad coloring skills!

Drew was cutting all kinds of shapes!

Sleepy boy

After a long day with a new schedule. And by new, I mean no more summer. This was before dinner.

Lincoln Logs

Daddy and Drew built an apartment and a house this afternoon. They took about 30 mins to build and about 5 seconds to destroy!

Trout Street Grill

It's a tradition for us to eat here every beach trip. It's on the bay and we sit outside so the boys can see the boats. The boys had popcorn shrimp for dinner and a hefty brownie and ice-cream for dessert!

Drew liked squirting the lemon juice on the fries and shrimp!

Look at that! They are sharing!

Closet

Ok. I ran out of hangers the other day so I decided it was past time to clean out my closet. I've been wanting to clean it out all summer and just had enough.
I had a helper! Wearing a hat of mine and 2 purses. Later he had a pair of boots on!

It took me less than 2 hours and I cleaned out my dresser while I was on a roll. When it was all over I ended up with 8 trashbags full of stuff. Mainly clothes, some shoes and a few purses. There were a few things that I can't get rid of: my sorority sweatshirt, and some sweat shirts that my Daddy bought me in NYC. I don't wear them anymore, but am hanging onto them.
One bag was nothing but t-shirts.

Amazingly, I still have a closet full of clothes and can't say I have nothing to wear!
