Week 2--eye

Well, it's been 2 whole weeks since Drew had to get the dermabond glue. It's been so easy to take care of, we don't have to do anything! The glue is starting to peel on the ends pretty good. It's driving me nuts because I just want to pick it off. His eye hasn't hurt. The glue doesn't bother him.
Here are the daily pics from week 2!

Day 8--almost no bruising.

Day 9--you can see the glue starting to lift on the sides. Laceration looks open.

Day 10--looking better.

Day 11--I hate that shine.

Day 12-- isn't that weird how it looks open.

Day 13--looks so good.

Day 14--so close to being healed. It looks really good. The area of glue seems to have shrunk. I'm so thankful he didn't get stitches.
I'm really hoping that the glue falls off this weekend.
I just pray the scar is minimal.

Snuggles

Well, we got a snuggler for sure. That's the main reason we picked him. He snuggled with me at the breeders place.

Against me in my bed!

On my legs.

All curled up next to me in bed.
Yes, we are letting him snuggle on our bed. He's not there long. He goes to his crate after snuggling for a while.
Oh and yes, his feet smell like frito's.

Morning naps

Dan & Grace sharing her crate. So stinking cute. But, he has his own crate, so I'm not sure this is a good idea....

But it sure is precious. And it's letting me get laundry done!

The healing process

It's been 1 week since Drew's unfortunate fall from bed in his sleep. I've been taking pics daily to see the progress. Here's what we have so far.

Day 1--in ER. Right after being glued back together.

Day 2--wound looks a lot better. Bruising on eyelid and right around cut.

Day 3--probably the worst bruising yet.

Day 4--starting to yellow. Bruised are healing.

Day 5--eyelid bruising getting better. Wound looking great!

Day 6--barely any eyelid bruising. Wound is less red.

Day7--eyelid bruising gone. Wound looks awesome.

The dr. said that the glue would take up to 10 days to come off. I can't pick at it or peel it. This has been so easy to maintain.
I have some Merderma for kids to start applying as soon as the glue comes off. I don't think it will scar that bad anyway. Fingers crossed. His face is too pretty for scars. Although his daddy told him chicks dig scars! Nice.

Trip to ER

I can't begin to describe the panic at 2 in the am in Drew's voice. He was sitting up in his bed screaming and crying for me. When I got to him, I discovered blood all over his hands and face. Apparently, he had fallen out of his bed and hit his head on his nightstand.

This is a pic of him in my bed waiting to leave.
I cleaned him up, got dressed and took him to the ER. Craig went with me so we called Grandma over to be here for Dylan. We got to the ER around 3ish and there was nobody in the waiting room.
We got in quick and the DR came in and said he definitely needed stitches, but he was a perfect candidate for the DermaBond Glue.

Waiting on nurse to come put the numbing cream on...

Numbing cream on and watching tv waiting on the DR to apply the glue.

All done! Glued up waiting to dry. He did AMAZING! no tears. At all. We were so proud of him. Our first laceration and he did great.
So we stopped at a famous donut shop and he chose this fried cinnamon roll!

It was almost as big as his face.

Needless to say, we are thankful that it wasn't worse. We will be putting the safety barrier back on. Luckily, we have a relaxed weekend ahead anyway!

Fab dinner on a lazy Sunday

So today a cold front came in with rain so I declared it a lazy, pajama day! So since today was so lazy I thought I'd make a fabulous dinner! (we usually have pizza on Sunday's)
So here it is...

Chicken breasts stuffed with cheddar cheese slices and asparagus. Crushed garlic cloves, salt, pepper and chopped red peppers on top.
Looks delish. Hope the boys like it! It's gonna go good with my new wine!

Plaque

I found this precious painted plaque a few months ago at a cute shop in my fave little town. I didn't buy it until last month though.
I love it. It's on our chocolate wall in the playroom.

Mejia Christmas

A few days after Christmas, we celebrated with my family at my mom's house! This would be our 4th celebration!

I made another double layer, fondant covered cake with fondant bow. Does it look like a present?! This fondant turned out smoother than the xmas eve one. Grandma said this one was much better. I think she meant that as a compliment.....

double trouble! They are 14 months apart! She can hang with my boys very well!

Meredith, my gorgeous niece opening presents.

Dylan was pooped out and sitting in his box of stuff!

look at Drew back there....can you guess what that started???!!!!!!

YEP! that's right!

I'm almost certain that the kids had more fun with that box than anything else!
What a wonderful Christmas we all had.
We are truly blessed to have so many loved ones who spoil us! Even our parents and siblings still spoil us.
We sure hope that you had a very merry Christmas just like we did!

Hebbe Christmas

Christmas Evening, we headed over to Craig's sister's house for the Hebbe Christmas. The 4 grandkids get a TON from Grandma & Grandpa. The food was great and the company was great too. We had a great time and stayed late. The boys love playing with their cousins and I'm pretty sure that the girls like having the boys over!

all 4 kids eating dinner at the kids table....we put Whitney in charge!

the 4 kids and the ginormus tree!

Drew's ready!

Dylan's ready!

He LOVES Toy Story 3!

OK, this was funny.....Craig got this to take to the ranch in hopes that it is never again as dirty as it was when I went! (we'll see....)

our car was packed tight! The 3rd row is folded down flat! I had to sit in between the boys (we don't have a bench in the 2nd row!) Luckily, Jina & Dave live about 5 mins from us!

Christmas Morn.

Christmas morning at our house. Just us 4. First they opened up their stockings then they each had a movie under their room trees! Santa, Mommy, and Daddy did very well this year as you can see. The boys were both very happy with all their new things. After opening all the presents, we ate our usual Christmas breakfast of cinnamon rolls, and stayed in our pj's all day....well, until it was time to go to Aunt Jina & Uncle Dave's house for more Christmas.

Drew was happy with his stocking stuffers!

Look at those eyes!

Dylan's loot....

Drew is hiding from the camera! (of course!)
