Qwirkle

Our new family game we bought with Drew's gem jar. Rows can't be longer than 6, you have to match color or shape. If you create a row, it has to be either same shape or color. It's really fun

Taking the trash out

Ok. I did it. ALL of Drew's trash related things are gone. All his trucks, bins, dumpsters, legos(cause he uses those for trash), landfill. Gone. Out of his room. He doesn't get them back until he goes 1 week without saying one of the following:
1."you tricked me"--when he's throwing a fit
2."shit"
3."butt"
4."poo poo"--head, face, mama, Dylan, etc.
5."Damnit"
6."hate"
7."stupid"
Or throwing a massive fit of any kind. Last night was horrible. A 45 minute kicking, screaming, awful fit. Today after school he wasn't listening to me and once we got home, there were several almost fits. So, he helped me remove all this stuff and put it in the guest bedroom.

And you can't even see it, but the large green trashcan is filled to the top with dumpsters, trashcans and trashtrucks.
This behavior must stop. And now, I've had to get mean and take away what he plays with most.
He also lost his iPod last night.

Uh oh

Ok. This is one of the many reasons that I don't bring school work home.
Dylan found my school keys with my badge and sharpie attached.....
(I was doing laundry)

My newly decorated badge! LOL!

I'll need to explain this one for a while!

Imagination Movers-live

We took the boys to see Imagination Movers (from Playhouse Disney) last week as an early Valentine's gift. It was so much fun! I really think that Craig and I had as much fun as the boys. There was a ton of singing and dancing and we were super close! The boys and I knew most of the songs because we have a cd from the show.
Geneveve and TC from Choo Choo Soul opened up the show--they were fantastic! The show was 2 hours of singing and dancing and we all had a blast! It was downtown at a new theater and we were the 1st ones to be at this theater.
The movers were really funny and kept the parents involved in the show and payed homage to some of our hometown singers! It was funny.
Afterwards, we took the boys to get burgers at an old fashioned burger joint!
Of course, we bought them t-shirts and they both wore them the next day to school/daycare.
Now, everytime we see them on tv, Dylan says, "Hey, we saw them!"

Love Choo Choo Soul! They will get ya moving!
Dylan checking it all out. He had so much fun dancing along.

There they are----Rich, Scott and Smitty---Dave was to the left.
Drew got to meet Rich! Really cool!

Look! It's warehouse MOUSE!!!!

Nina!

Monster Eddy!

Drew--picking up the confetti from the floor! He wanted to recycle it all! We had to tell him to stop, enjoy the encore and that there was someone who got paid for that.

Nina came back out.

TC breakdancing!

Love--doggie style

Yoda, Dan and Grace with their vday loves.

100 lb and 7 lb BFFS!!!! Sharing quite nicely!

Dan's head is in Yoda's mouth! Poor Dan gets soaking wet when they do this!

He thinks he can pin Grace down!
These 3 dogs love each other. We are so glad we added Dan to the family!

V-day {Hebbe style}

Both boys had donuts and got "love bugs" from us filled with goodies.

Drew gave Mrs. Hickman a love monster that sings and dances!
And chocolate covered fortune cookies. Dylan's daycare also got some fortune cookies.

Dogs got treats and new squeaks.

Grandma surprised us with Hey Cupcake cupcakes---yummy!

And Craig continued the chocolate covered strawberries from Amy's. Although we both agreed this year, they tasted a little funny.
We had a great day of love. We were around the people we loved most and ate the foods and treats we love the most! It was a fabulous day and everyone enjoyed their surprises!

T-Ball

So we signed Drew up for T-Ball. I have to be really honest and tell you that I'm very hesitant and nervous about the whole thing. You see, we are a baseball family. I grew up in a baseball family. My Grandpa played his whole life and in the Army. My dad played his whole life, then coached, then refereed the game for many years at all levels (except pro). My brother has played his whole life and now coaches at the college level. We ARE baseball!
Drew has a baseball room---bed, fan, lamps, piggy banks, quilts, etc. His nursery was baseball themed. He has to love this game.
The boys have both been going to college and minor league baseball games since they were babies. We've had tees in the yard since they were both walking!
So, when he said he was ready to play.....we signed him up.
Craig will be the assistant coach. Our head coach is a high school coach. Coaches kids and a few other "protected" players didn't have to try out for the team. I know what you are thinking....tryouts??!!
Yep! TRYOUTS. For t-ball. 5-6 year old t-ball. Not select ball!
Craig is spending this Saturday morning at the ball fields watching these kids try out. He and the other coaches will then go to lunch and discuss who they saw and liked. The draft is this afternoon! um, are we forgetting that they are 5!
I told Craig to watch the other parents as well as the players, if not more!
Don't get me wrong, I'm so excited and thrilled for this day. I've always wanted to be a "baseball mom". And now I get to, but Drew scares me. He is not patient with himself and gives up easily. If he doesn't have early success, I'm worried that he won't love the game the way we all do. He can't be critisized. He needs to be encouraged. We need to remind Daddy and Daddy's parents of this often when it comes to Drew.
I truly want him to love this game and play it for a lifetime!
I just pray that he doesn't "burn out".
I mean afterall, the chances of any of these kids playing into college is what, like 5%?!

That of course would be amazing, but let's be realistic here.
I do not agree with t-ball tryouts....select team, yes. High school, yes. But these "drafts"? I mean, that's a bit ridiculous!

SnOw 2011!

Well, we prayed/hoped/wished for snow all week and it finally came! We went to bed last night knowing it was coming, and wishing for a snow day off from work and school. At 5 am, I got a text from my AP that there was no school today. Normally a 5 am text would not be a good thing, but today it was welcome! I immediately texted my team at school and told Craig! we went back to sleep and woke up to Drew at 7:30 more excited than on Christmas Morning! He was literally screaming about the snow. He didn't want breakfast, just wanted to go play! He and Craig got dressed and went out for 2 hours! They came in and I made them a hot breakfast and ate by the fire. After eating, they got dressed again and this time Dylan wanted to go! They stayed out til the snow started to melt away. They had a snowball fight and couldn't make a snowman. There is only a tiny bit left and it was a fun day. I honestly am very thankful we don't live where we'd have to deal with this all the time. Forecasters are predicting 60's next week for the highs---bring it on!

Starbucks

Since we had a late start to school this morning, we had time to stop at starbucks! Drew & Dylan both wanted "coffee" (apple juice!) too!
Of course Drew refused to let me get a pic of him.

100 days of school

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school. Drew's teacher sent home an assignment to collect 100 of something. We spent all weekend giving cool (or so we thought) suggestions--rocks, dog treats, pennies, cereal, crayons, so many more. He didn't really like any of our suggestions so we told him to figure it out on his own. This is what he decided!

He then wrote it out on his own. I'm so proud. Back in August he refused to write anything and his name didn't look good at all. Thanks Mrs. H for getting him to write and have confidence. The past 100 days have all been wonderful!
