HaPpY bIrThDaY DYLAN!

My sweet boy is 3 today!

less than 1 month old

3 years old!

Dylan has been an absolute blessing and delight in our lives since we knew we were having a boy! We feel extremely lucky and blessed to have him and now our family is complete!

Although at times having a 3 year old and a 6 year old boy is challenging, there is absolutely nothing at all that I'd change!

Dylan's fave things:

There is so much more that he loves. He's such a loving, sweet boy.

Sure, he's a typical 3 year old boy, but he's my sweet baby and I feel blessed daily!

Easter 2011

We had a wonderful Easter 2011.
We went to my brother's house on Saturday and spent the whole day there. Lots of family and great food. We stayed all day. All the kids got 3 baskets, pinata, cascarones, and of course the egg hunt!
Then on Sunday, we went to Aunt Judy's house for more family, food and hunting.
We were sad to see this weekend go.

Big boy bed

In our house when you turn 3, you transition from toddler bed to full size big boy bed. Our hope is that the beds we choose for them will last into middle school, maybe beyond......
So, with Dylan's 3rd birthday less than a week away, his was delivered this weekend.
It's really cool and he absolutely loves it.



He has stripe sheets and an old sweatshirt material blanket. His quilt is transportation vehicles of all colors and types.
There are drawers and cabinets on one side along the bottom and a really cool trap door on the end that allows them to go under. The headboard is my favorite part.

And here he is under his bed! They have both played under there a lot.



Ready for bed the first night! He slept better that night than he has in weeks. He just loves his bed so much!



And lookie there....him and Drew napped together today. They fell asleep reading and talking. Be still my heart.

running

I really, really, really want to become a runner. I started the 9 week Couch Potato to 5K training program 9 weeks ago. I'm not running a 5K yet.
I did the Diva Dash with much disappointment and it has me really discouraged.
I joined a gym so I can run when it's hot or dark outside. I was loving the treadmill.
Lately, I'm struggling so bad. I can barely run 1 mile, I was running 2 easily just a few weeks ago.
So, what is going on? My right shin kills me when I run.....
People say that running is at least 90% mental. So, how do I get past this?
There's a 5K in a month that I really want to run with several of my friends.....
I also should prob say that I'm extremely frustrated by the fact that I've cut out 95% sugar daily and prob 98% of flour products and little to no weight loss.
So in my mind, why the hell am I still doing this?!

Sunday haircuts

I cut the boys' hair again this evening. Drew wanted his shorter but not as short as Dylan's.....

Boys will be boys

So, I ran a 5K diva dash today with obstacles. It was hard. I wasn't ready for a full 5K much less one with hills and obstacles. So, as a reward, I treated myself to a facial and a massage. When I came home, this is what I found in the back yard....

Jumping off the water table has never been so much fun!



My little nut. ALL boy and I wouldn't have it any other way!
