First trip as four!

Well, we did it!
We took our first trip as a family of four this weekend! We went to Waco to see my family. Oh boy, you should have seen our car! we put the third row down to have space for everything and it was packed so tightly nothing budged on the way! It took us hours to get ready, packed, loaded, dogs dropped off, and out the door! We left at the time that I wanted to be in Waco! You know that drove me NUTS! Dylan did great on the way there, sleeping the whole time and Drew of course was great too! We plugged in his portable DVD player and he watched curious george, not making a peep the whole way! Craig and I actually got to talk to each other and have a grown up conversation, something we have not been able to do in well, 2 months!! We stayed with my brother, Pete and his wife, Devin. Dylan got fussy a little bit while we were there and they hated hearing Dylan cry. We took turns trying to calm him down! He just gets fussy and there is nothing anyone can do! Very frustrating! Could it be gas, reflux, too tired, bored, hurting? Oh my gosh, I'm a terrible mom because I don't know and I can't fix it! They felt bad for us!
We took the boys to the Cameron Park Zoo on Sunday morning! If you have not been there, you need to go! It's a fabulous zoo!! Drew had a blast! He loves the zoo! He was naming all the animals and looking for the signs to see where to go next! He had his zoo map in his hands and would tell us what was coming up and where he wanted to go! He also was into looking for certain letters that he is currently learning! He has really amazed us with this letter learning! He is picking them up soooo fast! He's ready for preschool in the fall! And that makes me more ready too!
So, after the zoo we went to my grandma's house. Drew calls her Momo, that's what my brother and I called her when we were little! She had my favorite dinner cooked and it was so delicious! We all wished that we could have eaten more! Gosh, I miss her cooking! She has fresh, hot, homemade tortillas too of course! And she had gone to HEB and gotten Drew some animal cookies and pears! He loves them and she always gets them for him when we go to Waco! She may be pushing 87, but she remembers what her Drew Richard likes!!! :-)
We got home way late last night and Drew got to bed at 10! I hate that, but hopefully I can get him back on a better schedule this week!
Dylan slept for 8 hours last night!!! So I guess we wore him out! Thank goodness because I was pooped!
Well, now that we have survived an hour and a half drive, maybe we will get brave and do it again and maybe go futher!? who knows!
