Thinking of Newtown.....

"Because while nothing can fill the space of a lost child or loved one, all of us can extend a hand to those in need -- to remind them that we are there for them, that we are praying for them, that the love they felt for those they lost endures not just in their memories, but also in ours.
May God bless the memory of the victims and, in the words of Scripture, heal the
brokenhearted and bind up their wounds." -- President Barack Obama

As a teacher, mother and human being, I can't begin to understand what happend on Friday. I didn't watch the news all weekend, as if that would possibly make this all go away or better. I don't know. I don't know what the answer is, and maybe there isn't ONE answer. Arming the schools? I'm fairly certain I'd quit my job. All I can do is hug my kids tighter and tell them I love them every chance I get. You must live life to the fullest and take nothing for granted. I pray for these families, that they can find strength in their healing and learn to live without these people listed above. How do you move on? That's different for everyone who has ever lost. We are praying for you Newtown.

Baseball/soccer

Today was the last day for fall sports
We will have a break until February! Much needed for all of us!

I wonder how long they will let me pick their numbers and make sure they match?!

Halloween 2012

Let me say that Drew has never liked dressing up. Ever. If its heredity, he gets that from me as well!
So, he decided this year that he didn't want to dress up and go door to door asking for candy. So, him and I stayed back at the house to pass the candy out and I was so excited. I secretly hate Halloween. Always have.
So I was so happy when I didn't have to go out and find the cutest, latest non cheap, close to hand made, original costumes.
Dylan was a firefighter and we already have all that stuff here.

We carved the pumpkins after school and Drew wanted his to be vomiting and Dylan wanted a laughing/winking one.
I did my best....

And now it's time to put away my Halloween scentsy's....

Hope you all had a happy and safe Halloween.
We are looking forward to the holidays!

Superhero Run

I've been running about a year and a half now and have done several races.
Drew has hinted at the fact that he would like to run some too. So, we started off with a kids 1K this weekend. Let me just say, I'm fairly confident that he could've done the 5K with me!
I ran the 5K first then we all did the kids K. The boys got medals and they thought that was very cool!

Drew ran the K in 7 mins....Dylan and I walked and ran.

My babies and me!;)

We found storm troopers!

Date night

Every once in a while (not nearly often enough), Craig and I go on a date just the two of us.
It was beyond time to go, so last Saturday we went on a date after a long crazy hot day of soccer and baseball.
Our plan was to go to a restaurant and bar that we'd never been to.
We went to Ranch 616, which came highly recommended. It was amazing. Great food, fun atmosphere, eclectic decor.

Our water glasses were funny and cool!

Drinks were amazing.
After dinner we were supposed to go to 6 lounge, Lance Armstrong's bar.
But we never made it!
My car had been acting funny on our way downtown and once we got there it was really acting up....not changing gears.
So, we decided that we would head back home after dinner but we didn't get very far.
The car completely quit!
We got it into a parking lot and sat there for a while wondering what to do. We decided against trying to drive home. Our date was over. His parents came to get us and the tow truck took my car.

Being without my car sucks.
It's in the shop getting a new transmission. We don't know how long it will take. The sucker's warranty expires in 3 weeks! Wow. What timing. It'll be paid off next October and I plan on buying a new car then! (Unless the price is right now!)
