March of Dimes walk is back again! We have walked every year except for that first, cause he was still too vulnerable then. We will continue to walk for other babies as well as our own for as long as we can! I still can't look at those first baby pics of Drew and not cry. Just look at this picture of my hand on him. My hands are swollen in this pic from my sickness, but I have small hands. This was taken 2 days after he was born. He was no longer on a breathing machine. It was our first meeting. I had been too sick to leave my ICU bed until then. Everyone had met/held/fed him before I did. I was crying to my nurse that he wouldn't know me. She unhooked all my stuff and wheeled me down to NICU. Thank God for that nurse! I still remember her face!
We are very thankful for the research that MOD has provided as well as the caring people that continue that work today.
You all know what a wonderful little boy we have and we truly believe that we would not have him if it weren't for this research. Everyone played a part in his survival and for that we are forever thankful.
This year we are walking in honor of Drew Hebbe and Aeryn Beck and in memory of Andrew Beck (Aeryn's twin). We will be walking with the Beck family.(http://alphabecksoup.blogspot.com/ )
For those of you that don't know why we support the March of Dimes, Drew was born 6 weeks premature and he was VERY close to not making it to be with us today. As you know, he is a perfectly healthy 5 year old now and we believe a lot of this had to do with the research March of Dime does. We would appreciate any support you could give. We will be walking and you all are welcome to join us. If you need details for the walk, you can find them in the link below or feel free to email me and I’ll get you information on the walk. If you can't make the walk, donations are very much appreciated. If you would like to donate, we would prefer to just do online donations since the walk is this Saturday. Here is a link to donate:
